HOW TO WIN 1 v 1 BATTLES
Boiled down to its pure essence, soccer can be distilled into a series of small battles between one offensive player and one defensive player. These battles take place anywhere on the field, in front of your goal, by the sidelines, in the middle of the field, etc. The team that wins the majority of these small battles usually ends up winning the entire match.......

HOW CAN I RUN FASTER, MORE EFFICIENTLY AND AVOID INJURY?
Speed is the most sought after physical trait of athletes today. Soccer speed is one of those traits that if you have it more than any other player on the field you will be noticed. Excellent soccer speed can impact the game. The key thing to remember is that soccer speed is not only straight ahead speed. It is the ability to accelerate quickly, run on diagonals and bow shaped curves. Soccer speed consists of running shoulder to shoulder with opponents trying to either react to their next move or out pace your defender.
In soccer speed you must train the arms, the legs and the core, because each contributes to the whole. The body parts work as an integrated unit to move your body faster down the field. Also, let’s not forget mental speed and game insight as the great Johan Cruyff said “the first 2 yards are in your mind… Speed is often confused with Insight. When I start running before the rest, I appear Faster…”.
Right now you’re asking your self, how can I achieve improvements in my speed? The answer is not an easy one. The main general principles that must be present in order for you to maximize your speed potential are:
1. Technique Read more.…HOW TO IMPROVE SPRINTING TECHNIQUE
2. Strength
3. Power
4. SpeedBuilding Drills (i.e. Resisted Runs, Assisted Runs, etc.)
5. Flexibility
PRE & EARLY SEASON WORKOUT
To get fit and physically ready for the season start follow this workout program in July & August. Remember, it is not just WHAT you do, but HOW you do it. The more intense your workout is, the more you will grow as a player. Perform 1 exercise from each group listed for about 15 minutes per group, so your workouts should last for about 1 hour, but never longer than 90 minutes.
